Itinerary
15 days in Morocco from CasablancaPick-up from Casablanca airport, if your flight lands earlier than you may start a visit of Casablanca and see the Hassan II Mosque, later we will experience the coastal “Cornish” seaside. Night in hotel.
After breakfast you will lead to Rabat around 1h30 and start a visit of 2 hours of Hassan Mosque, a wonder of the medieval Moorish world with its great minaret left unfinished when its founder died in 1199 the Chellah necropolis and Oudaya Kasbah.
Afternoon we arrive to the ‘Blue Town’ where for every shop selling tourist gifts; shoe repairs, groceries, stationery and sweets, a tailor sewing an elegant djellaba, butchers, bakers (one of the centers of life in each area) although candle-stick makers don’t seem to have survived – Moroccan life as lived by the people of Chaouen. And don’t ignore the new town, which has some lovely examples of Andalusian architecture and a charming park at the end of Avenida Mohammed V.
Today you will have free day to expolre Blue walls of Chefchaouen and bay small gifts for family.
After breakfast, departure to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The city was built with 20 gates, more than 50 palaces and 15 miles of surrounding walls. Following lunch, stop at the remarkable Roman ruins of Volubilis, with its mosaics and temples. Later we go ahead to Meknès, the 16th century capital whose ruler, Moulay Ismail, modeled himself on France’s ‘Sun King’, Louis XIV: historical guided visit of Meknès, and . Night a Riad in Fez.
Today we will explore the oldest culture in Morocco “Fes” the intellectual capital city. It has the oldest university in the world El-Qaraouine which founded by Fatima El-Fihri, in Fes there is two parts the oldest and traditional “Fes-El- Bali” Medina and the new part “Fes-El-Jdid. Also we can see the beautiful and traditional way of building mosques, however the Plazas, Andalusian neighborhoods, palaces and museums. We will spend our night in one of the traditional Riads.
Start After breakfast in Fes. Departure to Midelt through the mountains and cedar forests of the Middle Atlas. We pass by Ifrane, a charming ski resort and Azrou, an important handicraft centre specializing in work using cedar wood. After passing Zad (2178m/7146ft) we will stop in Midelt for lunch. In the afternoon, our route descends to Erfoud through the gorges and the Ziz valley dotted with date palms. We continue to the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Dinner and overnight at the kasbah.
Today you are going to experience one of the most memorable moments of your Morocco Sahara adventure as you make your way into the dunes of Morocco’s Erg Chebbi region of the Sahara Desert, the largest dunes in the desert of Morocco. You’ll have this morning to explore Merzouga before preparing for a memorable night under the stars. We will visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle. Enjoy the panoramic view behind the Erg Chebbi of sand dunes. Afterward, we will head to the nomad’s families in their tents at Kem Kem and having tea with them, absolutely you will discover a new sense of life. And In the afternoon, meet your camel, trek through the desert, over the red dunes, until all you see is sand and sky, and the quiet is only broken by the occasional snort of the camels and the soft sound of their steps on the sand. Stop to watch the sunset along the way, To arrive at your camp, where you will be welcomed with mint tea and cookies. After some time to admire the sand dunes and the surrounding landscapes, get ready for a Moroccan dinner served under the stars next to the campfire. After dinner, you will gather around the fire to admire a typical Berber music performed using drums under the sky full of stars.
The day will start by waking up early to see the spectacle of sunrise, when the color of the dunes combines with the play of shadows to make an awesome view. Then ride the camels back to meet your guide/driver and start your day with him by Rissani where it existed one of the main traditional markets, that was in the past a station for trade’s caravans .in addition that town was the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty – the current ruling royal family- in Morocco. The road passes through Erfoud the land of fossils and that would be an opportunity to see one of the many fossils mining (if you are interested).Continuing the way via Berber villages of Tinjdad to reach Todgha gorges a series of limestone river canyons, This stunning area affords an opportunities to walk and enjoy deep cliff-sided canyons. The night will be in Bomaln Dades in nice hotel.
Departure from your Hotel in Dades Valley headed to Ouarzazate, Through the road of Thousand-Kasbah and we will make a stop at Kalaat Mgouna, “the rose’s city” known for roses and its annual festival during the roses harvest in May before to reach the palm groves of Skoura, where absolutely you’ll be impressed with its landscapes, and palm-tree shadows stretch across the road, no one seems in a hurry to leave.45Km further we will arrive at Ouarzazate “the Hollywood of Africa” the town has one of the biggest studios, the homes of the wealthy and powerful have been the backdrop to many Hollywood blockbusters and major historical television programs, including Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. If you are a fan of A Game of Thrones you will recognize it.
After breakfast in the hotel, we can visit Taourirt Kasbah. This former Glaoui residence, situated on the edge of the town, is considered to be one of the most beautiful kasbahs of Morocco. After that, we will drive outside the town to enjoy a private visit to the Atlas Corporation Studios. Before we head to the famous Kasbah Ait Benhaddou,30 kilometers from Ouarzazate. The kasbah is one of the most intriguing red earth castles lining the ancient road of the Kasbahs, and is a UNESCO world heritage site, add to that, the Kasbah has been the backdrop to many historical films, including Lawrence of Arabia, The Last Temptation of Christ, Gladiator, and Game of Thrones. then our Fes Merzouga Desert trip will end by crossing the high Atlas mountains, passing through the Berber town of Taddert and over the 2260 meters high Tizi-in-Tichka pass with stops for panoramic views and taking pictures of the Berber villages and its beautiful landscapes. Before we reach the red city, Marrakech, we drop you off at your hotel/Riad
Sightseing of Marrakech start at 8:00 am with local guide. One of the mazing places in the red city or as it knowns over the world “Marrakech”, and that we will visit called “Saht Jamaa el-Fna” it’s very famous public place known by the diffrent activities producing there. Marrakech also known with the traditional building which we are going to see while we are there: Menara, near to the Koutoubia Mosque or you can also call it the Koutoubia books, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia, and the beautiful Majorelle Gardens; also we will visit its traditional souks. Overnight we will spend at one of the Riads.
After breakfast, we depart to Essaouira. The main entrance to this splendid city’s harbor was built in 1184 and called the Porte de la Marine and it is truly an architectural marvel. Sit back, relax and let the beauty of the sandy bay that sweeps to the south of this enchanting town and the wooded hills which dominate the eastern skyline captivate you. Return to Marrakech for night in your Hotel .
A day trip to Ouzoud Waterfalls provides you with an excellent opportunity to escape the bustle and hassle of Marrakech and get out into rural areas to discover the highest waterfalls of the country. Once there you can go for a swim or ride the boat across the river, or maybe go for an hour hike to discover the source of the Waterfalls and watch the wild monkeys in the trees. Fo a more relaxed day you can set down at one of the restaurants close by the main falls and watch the waterfalls.
Today you will have a free day in Marrakech to explore the Medina and its souks by yourself
