Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – Aït Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Dades Gorges
Day 1: Marrakech – Aït Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Dades Gorges
We will start 4-day desert tours from Marrakech before 8:00 am, to drive to Ouarzazate, also known as “Gateway to the Sahara”, a former caravan town on the silk and salt route in the eastern foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Then we will pass through the Berber town of Taddert and over the 2260 meters high Tizi n’Tichka pass.
After passing through the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass, we will stop at the famous Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, 30 kilometers from Ouarzazate. The Kasbah has one of the most intriguing red earth castles lining the ancient road of the Thousand Kasbahs and is a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987. We will have our lunch at the Kasbah and continue on our way to Dadés Gorge via Ouarzazate- “The Hollywood of Africa”.
On our way through the “road to the Thousand Kasbahs” & the fascinating “sand castles”, we will stop at Kalaat M’gouna, “the rose city” known for its roses and annual rose festival during May. Then we will continue to our hotel in the heart of the Dadés Gorges, and enjoy a traditional Moroccan evening meal and breakfast the next morning.

Day 2: Boumalne Dades – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Arfoud – Merzouga Dunes

After morning breakfast, we will explore the sites around Dades Valley and Todra Gorges. Lunch will be taken at any of the cafés on our way. Merzouga will be the final destination of day 2. From there, camels will take us to our Berber desert camp via the Dunes of Erg Chebbi. Our stay will be at the desert camp that includes accommodation, evening meal & next morning breakfast in a traditional Berber tent. Enjoy 4days Marrakech desert trip.

Waking up early to see the sun rise and ride the camels back to meet your driver/guide and start your day with him visiting Erisani, one of the main stations of the trading caravans in the past, where you will visit an old traditional market (if its market day) than passing through Alnif, Tazarin, Nkub and Agdz where it existed the largest river in Draa valley, reaching Ouarzazat where you will stay overnight in nice hotel.

After breakfast in Ouarzazate, your destination will be Marrakech, passing over the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka bends, but before you will visit the Atlas movie studio, the world’s largest film studios, and then you will reach your riad/hotel in Marrakech.
